When setting up a customer in SAM, you can configure individual discounts for each customer, including quantity-based discounts. For example, you can set up a quantity break discount where if the customer purchases 10 items, they receive a 2% discount, and for 50 items, they receive a 3% discount, and so on.
Additionally, you can set up discounts based on product categories. To do this, simply use the Category dropdown to select the appropriate category, then configure both the Category discount type, and additional quantity breaks if required. Apply the settings by clicking the “Save” icon. This allows for flexible and tailored discounting for each customer.
If the category discount is set to “none”, the quantity break discounts will only apply when this product is used on Quotations, Sales Orders and Invoices, but if a category is selected, the quantity break discounts will be included in addition to the the selected category discount.
Once the category discounts for a product have been setup, these product will be included in the price list. If the category is assigned to a customer, the category discount will be applied to orders created for the customer as well as the quantity break discounts.
